In an e-mail, a reader says they were notified last week that The New York Times is ending same-day replacement copies of missed deliveries in the Phoenix area every day but Sunday. The Times said the missed-copy deliveries are ending "due to a change in service by our local delivery provider,'' according to a letter from Yasmin Namini, senior vice president, marketing and circulation, given to some subscribers. The change is effective on Monday.
I do not know whether the service is being dropped in other markets, or just in Phoenix. Times Co. spokeswoman Diane McNulty did not respond to an e-mail seeking comment.
